A few months back I had the pleasure of meeting Wendee of Custom Weddings of Colorado. Â We had a great chat over coffee and I was so impressed by her professionalism and attention to detail. Â She has to be one of the most organized people I’ve ever met! Â I’m looking forward to working with her this summer and know that with her in charge the wedding will without a doubt go off without a hitch! Â Â
I’m happy to say that Wendee is now a part of the IN Weddings Wedding Expert Directory. Â Take a moment to get to know her here! Continue reading ‘Get To Know Wendee @ Custom Weddings of Colorado’
I just had to write and say that I am loving this new dress from JCrew! Â I was just browsing their site and I love that they have something new every time I’m there.

That’s all for now! Â Hope you all have a fantastic Memorial day weekend!
Being a wedding photographer who is getting married means that I am constantly asked “who is going to shoot your wedding?” Â I am thrilled to tell people that our choice was Jenna Walker. Jenna Walker has recently contributed the most beautiful photographs to our Real Colorado Weddings section. Jenna along with her husband Matt and sister Katie make up the amazing Jenna Walker Photography. Â Their images are always so full of warmth and emotion and I just now they have to be a blast to work with. Â I’d like to share with you one of the weddings they shot that took place at Cheesman Park and the Brown Palace Hotel. Â Be sure to stop by our Real Colorado Weddings section for more photos from Brendan & Erica’s Denver wedding along with several new weddings that have recently been added! I can’t believe my wedding is only five weeks away! Â I have no idea where the time has gone. Â I’m leaving town tomorrow for a couple of weeks so once I get back I should be in full blown wedding mode! Â For some reason I kept putting off finding a florist, I don’t recommend doing this, the longer you wait the less likely you are to get what you want! Â I got lucky and was recommended to the fabulous Fleur de Liz. Â Liz is based right here in Evergreen where I live and where my wedding will be taking place. Â Last week we sat down to chat about my wedding. Â I basically told her that I want orange with hot pink accents and to take creative control from there. Â I love not knowing exactly what I’m going to get, it will be such a fun surprise! Â For a while I was worried that I needed to find a photo of exactly what I wanted and then ask my florist to recreate that. Â I learned that as long as you find a talented florist whose work you love just communicate your taste with them and then let them create something fabulous and unique for you. Â Also, embrace color! Vibrant colors photograph beautifully and really “pop” in your photos. Â I’ll be sure to share photos of my flowers after the wedding. Â I can’t wait! Â Continue reading ‘Nothing Like Waiting Until The Last Minute’

Last year Rachel planned her Colorado wedding while living in Alaska. Â She was able to make it out to Colorado a couple times to help the planning process along and in the end everything came together beautifully. Â Here is the inside scoop with Rachel! I’ve had the pleasure of working with Cindy of Bloom in Breckenridge, Colorado on several occasions and I must say she is one of my favorite Colorado Wedding Experts! Â She knows her stuff, has a great sense of design and is so much fun to work with! Â Cindy has stopped by IN Weddings to share a bit of her expertise with us. Â Also, here are some of my favorite Bloom creations! Continue reading ‘Get To Know Bloom Flower Shop’
Last week I was invited to an open house to check out the new venue, The Trading Post. Â It’s not exactly new, it’s a charming historic log building that was built in the 1920’s, but it’s just recently been open to hosting events. Â The party was hosted by Mary & Craig from Aspen Specialty Foods and the food, as expected, was fabulous!
I’m so glad I got a chance to check out this new spot as it’s incredibly unique and a bit hidden in the foothills. It’s located in Indian Hills on Parmalee Gulch Road off Highway 285. Â The space is small but as a bride who is having a wedding with only 50 people, I know how hard it can be to find a space that feels cozy and fitting for a small group. Â If you’re planning a small, intimate wedding reception in the foothills you should check out The Trading Post. Â It’s also a great spot for rehearsal dinners! Â For more information contact Steve at 720.937.3899 or sjsonnen@yahoo.com.
I forgot to take my camera but I’ll be sure to remember it next time I visit a Colorado wedding venue.
Happy wedding planning! -Michele
